Do you have the drive to do the following?:Foster a fun, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere within the pool area.Encourage a sense of belonging and support among all members, both new and existing.Team Management:Lead and manage the Lifeguard team, ensuring continuous training and proper documentation in accordance with Pool Safe standards.Assist in recruiting Lifeguards who align with our vision and values.Operations & Maintenance:Support the Lifeguard team in maintaining pool water quality and ensuring a clean, safe environment.Oversee day-to-day plant room operations and maintenance tasks.Identify and address maintenance issues, minimizing risks and reporting to the Aquatics Operations Manager.Scheduling & Budgeting:Prepare and monitor the Pool Operations roster, ensuring full coverage at all times.Manage the pool, chemical, and cleaning budget, placing orders as needed to maintain minimum stock levels.Health & Safety:Health and Safety Champion for the Centre, promoting a safe environment for all.Minimum Required Qualifications:PLSA (Pool Lifeguard Skills Award)PLPC (Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate)First Aid CertificateExceptional communication skills2 years Senior Lifeguard experienceWater Treatment Certificate - NZS 5826:2010 Units 25982, 25981 and 25980Chemical Handlers Certificate (chlorine)Exceptional staff management and leadershipCoaching and training experienceWhat The Y Offers:Free gym membership and discounts on The Y services e.g. childcare, holiday programmes, sports leagues, etc.On-site parkingApprenticeship Boost Scheme (Outdoors, Swim School, Lifeguards, Fitness, OSCAR, Youth)Professional development, career advancement and safeguarding trainingWorking in a community-focused environmentAbout The Y:As a not-for-profit organization, everything we do each day has a positive impact, and we have fun doing it!
