About the role As an apprentice Saw Doctor you will join the Lumber team at Pan Pac.
This apprenticeship will see you gain a National Certificate in Solid Wood Manufacturing (Advanced) Saw Doctoring Level 4 qualification.
You'll be backed by our team of highly skilled Saw Doctors who will train, mentor and fully support you throughout your apprenticeship.
This apprenticeship usually takes about 3 years.
As part of your training, you'll attend up to two 2-week block courses in Rotorua each year.
Pan Pac will cover the costs of both the course and your accommodation.
If successful with your application, you will be on a fixed term contract to allow you to complete this paid apprenticeship with Pan Pac.
At the end of this contract, you will have learnt a specialised trade and have a unique set of skills for your future.
Our Saw Doctor's are vital to the quality of the lumber our sawmill produces.
Their sharp eye and attention to detail makes a big difference to the final product.
They use a combination of new technologies and learned techniques to maintain and repair our saws and knives to keep them in top condition and keep the sawmill running.
This is a day position, located at our Whirinaki site, 15 minutes north of Napier.
