Applications Engineer - Valves

Reporting to the Category Manager – Valves, we are looking for an experienced Applications Engineer with strong experience in valves to join our team. You will be responsible for valve sales in the Industrial Market Sector and assisting with other sectors as required. You will also provide superior customer service to key accounts by building and maintaining relationships through client visits, supplying technical advice and information, producing timely quotes and following up on all sales opportunities whilst ensuring sales and profit goals are met. You will be responsible for the following: Negotiating and gaining sales by using effective and efficient sales techniques. Product Management & Product Development of target agencies, specifically Farris, Cashco, Blackhall Valmet, AVK & CMO. Working with major Industrial end users, contractors, and engineering consultants throughout the project quotation and supply process to ensure projects are managed correctly. Ensuring appropriate level of system knowledge to load customer orders, complete enquiries on debtors and check stock availability and keep accurate and up to date records of key account customer and consultant information. Investigate tenders and follow up on any sales opportunities arising. Enhancing customer relations by ensuring that all customer enquiries regarding price, deliveries, credit requests and other matters are dealt with in a timely manner. Providing support for sales representatives and actively participate in sales promotions. We are ideally looking for someone who has: Proven Technical Sales experience, providing solutions to industrial clients, ideally within Water & Wastewater, Processing, Mining, Heavy Industry or similar. Proven experience with a range of valve sales including having an in-depth knowledge of valves and their specifications. Trade or Engineering Backgrounds are advantageous - more important is your excellent communication, presentation and your ability to maintain optimism. Technical / mechanical acumen and a passion to challenge yourself and grow. Creative mindset and raising to challenge. Understanding customer requirements and proposing solutions to satisfy the customer needs. High level time management skills and the ability to communicate positively / engage with all levels of clients and stakeholders across the business.
