Te Puni Kokiri is the government's principal policy advisor on Maori wellbeing and development. We achieve strategic influence with a focus on providing high quality policy advice and holding other agencies to account for delivering public services to, for and with Maori. This includes our mandate to promote Maori achievement in education, training, health and economic resource development along with performing our monitoring and mentoring roles.
We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced HR practitioner to join our People, Capability and Culture Advisory Team!

We are looking for a trusted Principal Advisor who will work in partnership with the business to enable Te Puni Kokiri to maintain and enhance our capability to deliver efficient, effective and economical outputs. We're looking for people who are adaptable, who can front-foot their mahi, have change management experience and are looking for an exciting new challenge!
The Aporei - Principal Advisor leads the development of, and coordination for strategic initiatives and documents for the General Manager, People, Capability and Culture in governance, executive and ministerial forums. They will support the General Manager and Te Puni Kokiri Leaders to:
Lead the development of, and coordination for HR strategic initiatives
Lead the development of and coordination for HR related documents (GM, Governance, Executive Leadership directed)
Lead and review implementation of human resources and capability initiatvies including;
Annual performance cycles
Annual staff engagement initiatives
Change management
Liasing on Te Kawa Mataaho work programmes including
Support of the Ministry's Papa Pounamu programme for Diversity & Inclusion
Support of the Ministry's Pay Gap Action Plans
Provide expert advice to the team and managers including the provision of employment relations support if required
Provide high quality support to the General Manager, at pace.
The appointment range for this role is between $110,165 and $136,403 per annum and the salary will be determined based on the successful candidate's skills and experience .
Mou | About you
This opportunity is for a highly skilled HR practitioner that possesses the technical knowledge and expertise to support the organisation in making effective decisions surrounding its people. To be successful in the role you should have:
Minimum of 5 years Senior Advisor/ Business Partner level
Significant experience operating in Human Resource or Capability Development within the public sector
Proven experience managing complex and multiple relationships to take full advantage of the perspective's and expertise of others
Demonstrated leadership experience in a complex and sensitive environment
The ability to work in collaboration with peers and to influence key stakeholders.
