They will actively embed Te Ao Maori perspectives and Te Tiriti o Waitangi in their mahi.
They are adept at taking complex data and turning this into robust, succinct analysis that supports advice.Subject matter expertise: Apply deep specialist subject matter expertise to a range of mahi and build the knowledge base in others.Leadership: Leading temporary project teams and programme deliverables.Represent the Ministry: In a range of national, and possibly international forums.Stakeholder engagement: Leading engagement with stakeholders, manage proposals, and working across government to achieve integration.The appointment range for this role is between $123,009 - $164,012 per annum (With a midpoint of $136,676) and the salary will be determined based on the successful candidate's skills and experience.You have extensive level technical, analytical, specialist and thought leadership experience including advising Executive and Senior Leadership, and Ministers.
We are looking for someone who has:Experience operating as a Principal Advisor within government and can articulate skills as outlined in the position description.Deep understanding of the machinery of government, its systems and processes, and knowledge of the priorities and political context we operate in.Respected professional and thought leader, confident in synthesising complex data to produce succinct, robust advice.Forward thinking, agile, and adaptable.
Able to anticipate the evolving nature of Maori and non-Maori world views.Comfortable working in a te ao Maori environment and situations where tikanga is observed.
