We provide high quality policy advice and hold other agencies accountable for delivering public services to, for, and with Maori.Te whai wahitanga | The opportunityReporting to the General Manager, Data, Insights & Monitoring, the Principal Advisor will develop and provide high quality, evidence-based technical advice to the Ministry, Ministers, and key stakeholders while actively embedding Te Ao Maori perspectives and Te Tiriti o Waitangi in their work.Subject matter expertise: Apply deep specialist subject matter expertise to a range of work and build the knowledge base in others.Leadership: Lead temporary project teams and programme deliverables.Represent the Ministry: In national and possibly international forums.Stakeholder engagement: Lead engagement with stakeholders, manage proposals, and work across government to achieve integration.The appointment range for this role is between $123,009 - $164,012 per annum (With a midpoint of $136,676) and the salary will be determined based on the successful candidate's skills and experience.We are looking for someone who has:Experience operating as a Principal Advisor within government.Deep understanding of the machinery of government, its systems and processes.Respected professional and thought leader, confident in synthesising complex data to produce succinct, robust advice.Forward thinking, agile, and adaptable.Comfortable working in a te ao Maori environment and situations where tikanga is observed.
