Job DescriptionAs our new Manufacturing and Development Manager, you'll be at the helm of a dynamic team dedicated to driving excellence. From managing machinery and software development to providing top-notch support to manufacturers, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our business. You'll be a key part of the team working to deliver solutions that make a real impact, improve productivity, and ensure the success of our customers. Please note, this role comes with some travel opportunities – because we have an amazing network of fabricators across the country, and you will be required to visit them! It's a great chance to explore new places while making a real impact, and includes a company car!

Key Responsibilities: Lead a Rock Star Team: You'll manage a fantastic crew, guiding them in delivering top-tier services, machinery, and software to manufacturers.Data Detective: Analyse and report on manufacturer performance to find opportunities for improvement, both externally and within APL.Customer Guru: Initiate projects and discussions with APL customers to help them boost productivity and effectiveness through tailored support.Crisis Manager: Take charge when critical situations arise and ensure issues are addressed head-on with solutions that work.Health & Safety Champion: Be the go-to person for health and safety, ensuring safe practices for your team, contractors, and customers.What You'll Be Doing: Leading Software & Tooling Development: Oversee software application enhancements, ensuring they meet the highest standards and deliver improvements that matter.Problem Solver Extraordinaire: Dive deep into fabricator feedback, data analysis, and project reports to identify issues early and help customers improve their operations.Rollout and Maintenance Pro: Manage the launch and retirement of tooling and machinery in line with new product releases.Relationship Builder: Build strong connections with customers, ensuring they're set up for success with the right support, maintenance, and tooling packages.What We're Looking For: Self-Starter: You can work autonomously, be it on-site or at customer locations, driving projects forward without needing constant supervision.Tech-Savvy Leader: You have a solid understanding of mechanical and technical concepts and aren't afraid to tackle complex challenges.Customer-Centric Mindset: You're passionate about putting customers first and going above and beyond to help them succeed.Communication Pro: You have the skills to communicate effectively at all levels and build strong relationships with both internal teams and customers.Problem-Solving Whiz: You can find creative solutions to complex problems and make data-driven decisions.Excel Expertise: Your Microsoft Excel skills are top-tier, and you're able to analyse and interpret data to drive business improvements.Leadership & Growth: You're a natural leader who loves sharing knowledge, mentoring others, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.Why APL?
