We are looking for an Alcohol and Other Drug Practitioner to join our friendly team at Christchurch Men's Prison.We work together providing holistic health and wellbeing programmes within a multidisciplinary team to support tangata whaiora affected by problematic alcohol and other drug (AOD) use challenges.As an AOD Practitioner, you will join a team of clinical, peer support and cultural staff, providing a multi-disciplinary approach to working with our client group.In this role, you will be:Delivering education and therapeutic groups within the prisonDeveloping treatment plans and assessments to deliver a tailored approach to client needsSupporting a multi-disciplinary team of clinical, peer support and cultural staffUsing a strengths-based approach to delivering elective topics and activitiesTo be successful in this role, you will:Ideally hold or be prepared to work toward a Registration with an allied health profession such as Social Work, OT, NZAC, DAPAANZ etcHave good organisational skillsBe a team playerA good understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and knowledge of tikanga Maori / Te Reo MaoriA non-judgmental approach to working with tangata whaioraYou will be part of a dedicated team working across prison sites, and a valued member of the wider Odyssey and Purapura Whetu whanau.For the job description and application form, visit our website: www.pw.maori.nz/job-vacanciesPlease apply by sending a CV and covering letter.
