Te Atea Marino is a Regional Maori Addiction Service, who operate under the umbrella of Whitiki Maurea, part of the Waitemata  District's Specialist Mental Health and Addiction Group.
We are a down to earth, close knit, small, but supportive bunch, who care about each other and go the extra mile when needed. We strongly believe laughter and shared kai are good foundations to ensuring we are ready to meet the challenges we all face, in an ever changing workplace environment. We really love what we do in our service, and with our whaiora. We would welcome some more like minded people to join us to reduce the burden of addiction and addiction related harm on the Maori people of Tamaki-Makaurau.
You don't have to speak Te reo Maori, but do require an understanding and commitment to the principles of the Tiriti O Waitangi (partnership, protection, participation) and the importance of Whare Tapa Wha , the 4 cornerstones of health, te taha wairua (spiritual aspects); te taha hinegaro (mental and emotional aspects); te taha whanau (family and community aspects); and te taha tinana (physical aspects).
This is an opportunity to experience the support of working in a clinical yet culturally minded team. You will be welcomed warmly by all of our team members, including senior staff, and you will learn how a tikanga approach meets the needs of tangata whai i te ora and whanau.

We have full time positions in our South team at 7 Ronwood Ave, Manukau.
We are calling out to people of passion who have: A relevant qualification in counselling, social work or mental/ healthA minimum of two years post grad experienceRegistration with DAPAANZ as a competent AOD practitioner or the ability to become registered within 6 months of joining our service, or registration with a professional body according to your clinical trainingSound clinical skills in assessment and treatment formulationSound clinical skills in individual and group therapy including motivational or equivalent counselling expertiseUnderstanding of Maori cultural values with the ability to weave those values into clinical practice or a willingness to learn to enhance your practice through this approachA person with the ability to adapt to changing work environments including locations if required to ensure service delivery standards are upheld and are maintainedIn return, we offer: A really good competitive salaryThe opportunity to join our small dedicated dynamic team of likeminded practitioners who are passionate about what they doMonday to Friday hours of work: 8-4.30pm - Weekends are yours!On-going cultural and clinical support to develop professional practice and competenceAccess to Kaumatua and professional supervisionRegular In-service trainingA healthy workplace which is smoke free20 days annual leave5 days study leave per annumHave a look at what's on offer and if you think this is you, then what's to lose!
