We are keen to speak to an experienced Animal Management Officer or someone with a positive outgoing attitude who has experience liaising with members of the public, complainants, SPCA, NZ Police, DOC, community organisations and local Iwi.About the role:Responding to requests for service/complaints as per legislative and bylaw requirements.Undertake investigations of complaints and provide written report/recommendations to team leader/manager.Undertake compliance/enforcement actions including impounding dogs, property inspections, infringements.Provide education and advice to dog owners and non-dog owners from all walks of life on safe animal practices.Becoming an Animal Management Officer is a unique and challenging role that requires a combination of skills, education, and personal attributes. As a minimum these will include:Driver Licence.Credit.Ministry of Justice Criminal History Check.Immigration.Must live in Whangarei region.Full New Zealand driver licence and reliable transportation essential.Sound knowledge of animal management legislation and by-laws in NZ.Display honesty, integrity, and reliability.Intermediate computer skills are essential.Must be eligible to legally work in New Zealand.Articulate and a comprehensive understanding of the written and spoken English language.Forward thinker with a solid understanding of interpreting legislation.Ability to offer educational advice.Display sound judgement and ability to make informed decisions quickly.Confidently work alone or in a team environment.Comply with company SOPs and Health & Safety Regulations.Our Ideal Candidate:Dog handling experience and knowledge of animal behaviour.First Aid Certificate.NZ Certificate in Regulatory Compliance (Core Knowledge) (Level 3) preferable.Experience liaising with members of the public, complainants, SPCA, NZ Police, DOC, community groups and local Iwi.Great communication with the ability to deal with difficult or confrontational situations.Good physical fitness.Additional Benefits:A strong focus on training and development to support your personal and professional growth.On-going support, welfare checks, and a robust Health & Safety culture to ensure the well-being of you and your team.Full access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and support services, including confidential counselling and financial budgeting services.Applicants must be 18 years or older and have no criminal convictions which would prevent obtaining a Certificate of Approval (COA) to work in the security industry under the Private Investigators and Security Guards Act 2010.
