The Role:
We're looking for an Analytical Technologist to join our Hokitika based Quality team, working in our Analytical Science Lab and reporting directly to our Principal Scientist.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Coordinating method validation and transfer
The efficient and accurate sampling, testing and recording of findings
Monitoring test results for compliance to specification and escalating non-complying results
Assisting with the continual improvement of procedures, reporting and issue resolutions
Supporting the analytical scientist with the implementation of new methods
Providing support to the laboratory staff in training to maintain 17025 accreditation
Ensuring the accurate calibration of test equipment
Key preferred attributes for the role include:
A relevant tertiary qualification in Science (analytical chemistry etc)
Experience and knowledge of analytical tests and techniques (e.g. HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS and ICP-MS)
An understanding of ISO 17025, 14001, 22000, RMP is desirable
Key Technical Person "KTP" status or the ability and desire to work to achieve KTP status within 12-24 months of obtaining the position
The ability to interpret and action detailed methods
The ability to diagnose and fix mechanical problems with testing equipment
Good Microsoft Office skills (across the suite) with excellent written and verbal communication ability
Flexibility and adaptability together with the ability to work under pressure and be responsive to organisational contingencies as they arise
