We have two exceptional opportunities for a Senior Analyst and Analyst to work at the centre of government to improve the value of public spending. The Spending Review Team works on high priority projects for Government for improving the value of public spending.
We provide influential advice on government spending and its effectiveness and efficiency, bringing together policy, systems, economic and financial analysis skills.
We have openings for a Senior Analyst and an Analyst.
The roles will include advising the Minister of Finance on options to improve the value of public spending.
The work programme has flexibility and various projects, enabling us to tailor responsibilities to individual skills and interests.
We expect the work programmes would cover a mix of:
Developing and implementing cross-government approaches to improve value.Scoping and reviewing areas of spending to identify options to improve value.Coordinating with central agency colleagues to drive public sector improvements.Building the strategy and tools for reviewing government spending.Across both roles, we are seeking people with:
Excellent analytical and strategic skills.Strong implementation skills, able to deliver on time and to quality standards.Highly developed communication, influencing and relationship management skills.Cultural intelligence and a growth mind-set.A generous, team-player attitude.The role will suit self-starters comfortable working with ambiguity.
We expect individuals applying for the analyst role to have 2 - 3 years relevant experience and for the senior analyst role, 5+ years experience, including project leadership.

Ko nga hua | What we Offer Appointing salary for the Analyst role will be between $90,041 and $105,930 per annum, and for the Senior Analyst role it will be between $126,612 and $148,955 per annum.
This is based on skills and experience and inclusive of Kiwisaver.
The role is based in Wellington.
