We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters.
The Evidence and Analytics team plays a crucial role by delivering data-driven insights to inform policy decisions that aim to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders. Our work includes both ad hoc data analytics and regular reporting, utilising a wide range of datasets, including health administrative data, health surveys, and drawing on the Stats NZ's Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI). We are part of a wider Group that leads data analytics at the Ministry.
Ko ake mahi - What you'll do In this role, you will contribute to data analytics projects that support evidenced-based decision-making. You will help design and deliver clear and accurate reports that provide the best value for our stakeholders. Collaborating with team members, you will provide targeted insights and analysis to key customers across the Ministry. You'll be committed to developing your analytical skills and fostering positive relationships within the team and across Manatu Hauora. With your skills in R and your understanding of data analysis—including the limitations of real-world data—you will thrive in a learning-focused, team-oriented environment.
