About the Role
Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital is searching for a consultant anaesthetist to join our cohesive, friendly, and supportive team to cover 12 months of sabbatical leave.
We have a collegial work environment with a range of surgical and medical specialties serving a diverse patient population.
About the Team/Service/Location
Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital is situated in Hastings on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand. It is a large, secondary level, 400-bed accredited public facility providing acute and elective care for a region of over 176,000 people. The work of the Department is varied and often challenging.
Hawke's Bay has experienced significant population growth and demographic changes over the last ten years. A wide range of surgical, medical, oncology, and radiological services are offered and we have outgrown many of our facilities and now require considerable expansion.

About You
You will possess either FANZCA or an equivalent qualification that would lead to specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) and have an ongoing commitment to providing a top-quality service to our community.
Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
