Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the RoleHawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital is searching for consultant anaesthetists to join our cohesive, friendly and supportive team.The successful candidates would join a team of around 30 anaesthetic SMOs and 11 anaesthesia trainees to enhance the Anaesthetic Department according to their training and experience, and would also participate in the out-of-hours service. We have a collegial work environment with a range of surgical and medical specialties serving a diverse patient population.We are committed to ongoing education and improvement of our service and actively support junior staff and interdisciplinary team education. The Department is approved by ANZCA for 2 years of vocational training in anaesthesia.To review the position profile click HEREAbout the Team/Service/ LocationHawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital is situated in Hastings on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand. It is a large, secondary level, 400-bed accredited public facility providing acute and elective care for a region of over 176,000 people. The work of the Department is varied and often challenging.Hawke's Bay has experienced significant population growth and demographic changes over the last ten years. A wide range of surgical, medical, oncology and radiological services are offered and we have outgrown many of our facilities and now require considerable expansion. The next few years should be quite exciting!In addition, the private health care sector in Hawke's Bay is expanding rapidly, there are the opportunities for many health professionals to broaden their practice.
