Description:We are looking for an Anaesthetic Technician/Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join us at Mercy Hospital, in this role you will be an integral part of the team making a valuable contribution towards the safe delivery of Anaesthesia for a wide range of procedures.In this position you will provide clinical and technical assistance to the Anaesthetist and contribute to the maintenance of high quality and safe administration of anaesthesia and patient care including support to the theatre team.In this role, responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Provide professional, technical and clinical assistance to Anaesthetists;Provide safe administration of anaesthesia to patients;Anticipate problems and exceptional patient care;Co-ordinate documentation to ensure the patient receives effective care;Participation in quality improvement processes and activities.This is a permanent, full-time (1 FTE, 40 hours per week) position, however part-time (0.8FTE, 32 hours per week) would be considered.Hours to be worked on a Monday to Friday roster.Skills and Experiences:Alongside your previous experience as an Anaesthetic Technician or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP), our ideal candidate will also have the following:Hold registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate;Demonstrate sound professional judgement and an ability to practice in a culturally safe manner;Confidence to build successful working relationships with those around you, the ability to work independently or within a multidisciplinary team environment;Exceptional attention to detail;Enthusiasm and a proactive, flexible attitude.Please follow this link to find out more about the MSCNZ registration process for an overseas qualified Anaesthetic Technician: https://www.mscouncil.org.nz/To be eligible for employment at Mercy Hospital Dunedin, applicants will be required to provide vaccination history.Why Mercy Hospital?Mercy Hospital is a not-for-profit, tertiary level surgical hospital located in Dunedin, New Zealand.
