Ngati Kuia are the first people of Te Tauihu. We are the descendants of Maui, Kupe, and Matua Hautere. Te Runanga o Ngati Kuia is an iwi organisation with a proud history of giving back to the community, supporting the operation of our marae, and contributing to the restoration and well-being of te taiao and tangata whenua.
About the role
We are seeking an Amo Titoki to implement our te reo Maori strategy, with a priority focus on supporting the development of whanau and staff through te reo Maori initiatives. This role is vital in delivering positive and lasting outcomes for our people. As a result, we are seeking a highly motivated individual who is passionate about the growth and success of others.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the implementation and delivery of reo wananga, ensuring each initiative aligns with Ngati Kuia's tikanga and values.
Positive relationship building with whanau, hapu and iwi.
Budget management, resource allocation and reporting for each initiative.
Oversee health and safety protocols for all wananga and events, ensuring safe practices are followed for both staff and participants.
Collaborate with internal teams to integrate te reo Maori into daily operations and communications, supporting language revitalisation within Te Runanga o Ngati Kuia.
Support the capability development of our kaimahi within the iwi.
This full-time role is based within Te Tauihu, with the option to work in either the Whakatu or Wairau offices.
