Job Description Allied Health, Scientific Technical (AHST) Professions Regional Critical Care Principal Educator (WAI28659)Te Manawa Taki RegionFixed term, full time and part-timeAbout the Role An exciting opportunity for fixed term educators for Allied Health has been made available for the Te Manawa Taki region. The roles will be responsible for developing and overseeing education and coaching within adult critical care services across the region to provide "on the job training", support and coaching for the Allied Health workforce.
This initiative aims to support and increase the Allied Health workforce within the adult critical care setting. Funding has been made available for the Allied Health workforce to expand capacity and capability across the Te Manawa Taki region. The workforce development is the response to a high demand for specialty resourcing requirements in our critical care services. Allied Health has signalled the need for educators and coaches to provide ongoing education and upskilling of key members of the workforce to ensure resilience and retention of staff. Embedded throughout the critical care workforce development is the need to grow and develop a workforce that reflects the community we serve to ensure we improve the health of Maori and Pacific people.
The educator roles will be profession specific with the allocation of a Principal Educator within the group to support the coordination and collaboration across the interdisciplinary team, critical care units and region. As these roles will work across the Te Manawa Taki region, in the adult critical care service, the ability to travel between sites is essential. There is some potential flexibility in the FTE outlined below.

In addition to these, the principal educator will be responsible for the following:
Provide regional oversight to the Te Manawa Taki Region Allied Health Critical Care EducatorsLead and coordinate a regional approachSupport collation of Manatu Hauora (Ministry of Health) reportingReport to the Te Manawa Taki Region DAH groupDevelop and enhance collaboration with the Critical Care Nurse EducatorsCollaborate with stakeholders to support the retention of Maori and Pacific AHST WorkforceAbout the Team / Service / Location We are looking for enthusiastic allied health, scientific and technical clinicians who are passionate about supporting workforce development to work as part of a team of 7 Allied Health Critical Care Educators across the Te Manawa Taki region (inclusive of Waikato, Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Taranaki and Hauora Tairawhiti). The roles will be supported by the Regional Chief Allied Scientific and Technical Officers and will connect with other allied health critical care educator roles in other regions with support from the National AHST Critical Care Programme Coordinator.
