Job Description
Position: Allied Health, Scientific Technical (AHST) Professions Regional Critical Care Educator (WAI28647)
Where you'll be working: Te Manawa Taki Region
The details: Fixed Term and part-time available
About the Role
An exciting opportunity for fixed term educators for Allied Health has been made available for the Te Manawa Taki roles. The successful candidates will be responsible for developing and overseeing education and coaching within adult critical care services across the region to provide "on the job training," support, and coaching for the Allied Health workforce. This initiative aims to support and increase the Allied Health workforce within the adult critical care setting.
Funding has been made available for the Allied Health workforce to expand capacity and capability across the Te Manawa Taki region. This workforce development is in response to a high demand for specialty resourcing requirements in our critical care services. Allied Health has signalled the need for educators and coaches to provide ongoing education and upskilling of key members of the workforce to ensure resilience and retention of staff. Embedded throughout the critical care workforce development is the need to grow and develop a workforce that reflects the community we serve to ensure we improve the health of Maori and Pacific people.
The educator roles will be profession-specific, with the allocation of a Principal Educator within the group to support coordination and collaboration across the interdisciplinary team, critical care units, and the region. As these roles will work across the Te Manawa Taki region in the adult critical care service, the ability to travel between sites is essential. There is some potential flexibility in the FTE outlined below.
The following roles are fixed term until 30 June 2025:
0.5FTE Speech and Language Therapist
0.5FTE Physiotherapist
0.5FTE Dietitian
0.5FTE Occupational Therapist
0.5FTE Pharmacy
0.5FTE Social Work
