Allied Health Assistant - Musculoskeletal Orthopaedic Clinical Pathway/SCOTS program at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Southern, OtagoSalary - $72,074 - $75,471 and KiwisaverFixed-term, 12 months commencing mid JanuaryPart time, 24 hours per weekMo te turanga - About the roleWe're offering an exciting opportunity for an allied health assistant with experience in musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, and rehabilitation clinical practice, or those with a keen interest in developing skills in these areas, to join our Orthopaedics team at Health NZ/Te Whatu Ora Southern.This position sits with the Physiotherapy Orthopaedic Musculoskeletal clinical pathway. You will be responsible for providing patient- and whanau-centred care to patients referred to the Southern Community Orthopaedic Team. This community-facing pathway provides people with strategies to independently manage their condition and aims to prevent or delay surgery. You will work with a physiotherapist to facilitate and deliver individual and group exercise and education programmes, and to organise and facilitate patient scheduling through the orthopaedic service pathways.The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of working with patients to achieve functional and vocational goals and optimizing patient outcomes under the supervision of a physiotherapist.Flexibility is essential as this role may require participation in evening work from time to time. A current driver's license is essential to the role, which may be undertaken at a range of community facilities and may require travel between sites within Dunedin.At Health NZ Southern, we take pride in supporting our staff's professional growth.
