Allied Health Assistant - Summer internship (3 months) Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand (Nelson Marlborough) formerly NMDHB

1.0 FTE / Fixed term 80 hours per fortnight Nelson Location Opportunity to work within our friendly & supportive team Professional development opportunities to further develop your skills Nga mohiohio e pa ana ki tenei mahi (About this position) This is a great opportunity for an Allied Health, Scientific and Technical student to gain experience in a health care setting.

As an Allied Health Assistant (AHA), you will join our Allied Health team supporting our services to provide care to clients within the Nelson or Marlborough Region.

You will work under the supervision of Registered Allied Health Scientific and Technical (AHST) Therapists to provide safe, efficient, and effective AHA interventions.

The role will also include effective management of resources and equipment.

This is a fixed-term position working up to 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.

Ko wai he kaitono totika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?) You will be a practical, well-organized, and physically fit person with excellent written and oral communication skills. You'll have a friendly and welcoming manner with the ability to relate to a broad range of people of all ages.

It will also be important that you can work under direction, be a cooperative team player who is supportive of your colleagues, and work in a flexible, positive manner displaying an appropriate level of initiative.

You will be a current Allied Health Scientific and Technical student. Full training for tasks undertaken will be provided.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.

Qualifications It's essential that you have Year 13 or above NCEA Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent) and a current full driver's licence.

It is preferred that you will be in the process of studying an Allied Health, Scientific and Technical professional qualification.
