As well as being part of a great team, we offer hybrid working practices, a host of employee benefits (including highly discounted access to our health and fitness facilities), and a genuine commitment to your training and career development.What you'll be doing / He aha te mahiAs an Alcohol Licensing Inspector you will be providing effective and efficient Alcohol Licensing services, through the administration and enforcement of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and the associated regulations, in addition to the Queenstown Lakes District Council Alcohol-Free Areas in Public Places Bylaw.The role will involve:Assisting with the processing and administration of the alcohol legislation, regulations and by-laws including the processing of applications, compliance, and enforcement activitiesPreparing written reports on all licence applications and any other alcohol issues as requiredAssisting with the processing and administration of the Gambling Act 2003Reviewing applications for Licensed Premises Tour groupsUndertaking the duties of an "Inspector" as defined under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, including inspections and after-hours monitoring of licensed premises and eventsOrganising and presenting workshops to assist in the education of licensees and duty managers responsibilities in licensed premisesWhat you'll bring to the role / Ko wai to PukekaYou will have a number of years' experience in local government and alcohol licensing (desired but not essential) and will be a strong communicator with an excellent eye for detail.To best succeed in this role, you'll have:A tertiary qualification in a relevant subject (desired but not essential)Experience with participation in alcohol related hearings in front of the DLC and ARLA (desired but not essential).Demonstrated experience in process/system improvement.Experience in understanding and interpreting legislation and case law.Proficient at report writingA full clean New Zealand Driving Licence.What we offer / Ko a matou whakaratokaWe are proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports your health, wellbeing, and professional growth, including:Southern Cross Wellbeing One Plan (Full time, permanent only)Discounted membership to our health and fitness facilitiesGenuine commitment to your training and career developmentTo apply, please follow the link and apply online with your CV and Cover Letter.
