Alcohol and Drug Clinician - CADS Dual Diagnosis at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Waitemata, Auckland Full time role (1FTE)Based in Point ChevalierCADS is the largest Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD) service in New Zealand working with over 15,000 people each year. CADS provides free community and inpatient AOD treatment from a number of locations across Auckland. CADS is committed to empowering the community to discover healthier use of substances (harm minimisation) and to promote recovery and well-being.
About the role You will be part of a specialist team providing assessment and clinical case support to clients of mental health services in the Auckland Region who have a co-existing substance abuse or dependency problem. We also deliver training and coaching around Dual Diagnosis issues.
A sense of social justice and enjoyment in working with people in all their complexity is required. You will have a non-judgmental attitude, excellent engagement and communication skills, and an ability to work autonomously within a team. You will also have:
Complete registration with a professional body (DAPAANZ, nursing, social work, counselling, psychology, occupational therapy or related fields)Legal right to work in NZAbility to implement Te Tiriti O Waitangi in your daily workPreferred Clinical experience in addictions or mental health or similarComfortable working in a range of settings including probation, prisons, NGOsComfortable working with other health and social service providersLived experience as a consumer or whanau memberExperience in group facilitationExperience and/or training in the alcohol and drug field is preferred, as well as relevant tertiary qualifications, assessment, treatment and referral skills.
