Alcohol and Drug Clinician - CADS Dual Diagnosis Permanent opportunity Part time role Based in Point Chevalier CADS is the largest Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD) service in New Zealand working with over 15,000 people each year. CADS provides free community and inpatient AOD treatment from a number of locations across Auckland. CADS is committed to empowering the community to discover healthier use of substances (harm minimisation) and to promote recovery and well-being.
About the role: You will be part of a specialist team providing assessment and clinical case support to clients of mental health services in the Auckland Region who have a co-existing substance abuse or dependency problem. We also deliver training and coaching around Dual Diagnosis issues.
Essential Requirements: A sense of social justice and enjoyment in working with people in all their complexity. Non-judgmental attitude, excellent engagement and communication skills. Ability to work autonomously within a team. Complete registration with a professional body (DAPAANZ, nursing, social work, counselling, psychology, occupational therapy or related fields). Full, clean driver's licence. Legal right to work in NZ. Ability to implement Te Tiriti O Waitangi in your daily work. Preferred Qualifications: Clinical experience in addictions or mental health or similar. Comfortable working in a range of settings including probation, prisons, NGOs. Comfortable working with other health and social service providers. Lived experience as a consumer or whanau member. Experience in group facilitation. Experience and/or training in the alcohol and drug field is preferred, as well as relevant tertiary qualifications, assessment, treatment and referral skills.
