Providing an effective response to all emergencies and incidents that occur at the airport is the ultimate responsibility of the role of Airport Firefighter.
But there is much to it than that!This is a role where no two days will be the same.
It involves:Conducting regular airport and airfield inspectionsDriving and operating airport vehicles and equipmentWildlife managementClose liaison with other Airport staffUndertaking maintenance of the airport facilitiesAssisting in the delivery of a quality customer experienceEscorting visitors and contractorsYou don't need to be a Firefighter; full training will be provided.
You do, however, need to be cool, calm, and collected under pressure.
Oh, and fit!
You need to have a good level of physical fitness, lots of the work is hands-on and not necessarily firefighter stuff.
