Our Central Transport team is currently looking for Airfield Ground Lighting Engineer that will focus on the following:

Supporting the Technical Director (Aeronautical Ground Lighting) in developing and delivering on business opportunities in the Airfield Ground Lighting environment in New Zealand, the South Pacific and Australia.

Building and strengthening our Aviation business through the delivery of projects, project components and applying technical excellence in design.

Sharing experiences and technical skills, and contributing to the Aviation team 'knowledge-bank'.

Key responsibilities will include:

Technical Delivery – provide technical AGL inputs to projects, as designer, reviewer, or site engineer, such that proposal and project deliverables are of high quality and suit the project and client requirements.

Technical Speciality – ensure project contributions are accurate and timely to meet milestone delivery targets, minimise re-work time and cost, and optimise project budgets.

Client Liaison – Develop credible business relationships with existing and potential clients (both internal and external to GHD) to ensure required project outcomes are met and client satisfaction is maintained at a high standard.

Business Development – Assist with the development of new and repeat business for the Aviation team where appropriate and as required through the delivery of high quality proposals and projects.

Opportunity Development – Assist with identification, positioning and securing of Aviation projects.

Knowledge - Keep knowledge and competencies current, guide staff and contribute to GHD Global Knowledge Base.

Quality Assurance - Preparation of high quality reports, correspondence and other deliverables.

Inter-country support – support AGL-related project delivery across other GHD centres.

What you will bring to the team:

NZCE / BE (Electrical) or similar.

Tertiary qualified with 8+ years' experience in Electrical Engineering/ Technical Engineering Design projects.

Knowledge of international best-practice approach for airfield lighting projects, and of NZ / Aus context.

Knowledge of major international airport standards, specifications and processes, including ICAO, IEC, FAA, CAA NZ and other applicable regulatory frameworks around airfield construction and lighting.

Experience with preparation and application of Technical Specifications for contract documentation, and/or the field implementation of same during construction and commissioning.

Knowledge of public and private sector industries and requirements with an emphasis on the Airports sector.

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

Good computer skills including AutoCAD/Revit/BIM, Microsoft Excel and Word.

Good business acumen, with ability to take initiative.
