Aircraft Tradesperson (Fitter/ Turner/ Machinist/ Fabricator) Christchurch Engine Centre – a joint venture between Pratt & Whitney and Air New Zealand - is an aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul centre for all models of V2500 engine.

Your Role
After completing your induction training you will work at a designated workstation within our repair workshop consisting of the areas machining, thermal spray, bonding, weld, general fitting/ reconditioning.
Completing repair, modification, or overhaul work under the instruction of Production Leaders and Lead Hands.
Using our computer system to document and record your work.
Ensuring that your work meets all health and safety requirements.
Your Profile
Be Trade Qualified – NZQA Level 4 or equivalent in fitting, fitting and turning, machining, fabrication or mechanical engineering. Please provide a copy of your relevant qualifications, including NZQA equivalency for overseas qualifications.
Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
Have solid work experience in similar environment, such as aviation, mechanical engineering, automotive, fitter / machining, CNC machinist, fabricator or similar.
Be experienced in working in processes and following instructions.
Strong hand skills.
Have a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and good organizational skills.
Be a confident, effective communicator and a strong team player.
Be passionate about your work and always strive for the best and take pride in your work.
Be able to comply with a strong safety and quality culture.
Be flexible and adaptable.
HOURS OF WORK
In this full-time position you will work in a fortnightly rotating shift pattern. Availability to work overtime is appreciated and compensated accordingly.
