AIRCRAFT TRADESPERSON (AERONAUTICAL PARTS FINISHER / PAINTER)

We are currently recruiting for a qualified (Level 4) tradesperson with background in aircraft painting, vehicle painting/panel beating, composites or similar for a permanent full-time position.

Applicants will carry out tasks in the Clean, Paint and Bond section. Engine parts are treated using different mechanical and chemical methods to protect them against wear, corrosion, and heat.

This is perfect for someone who can work in defined processes, is quality and safety oriented, pays close attention to detail, and is willing to learn. You will receive a full training and comprehensive onboarding.

Your Role

After completing your induction training you will work at the Clean, Paint and Bond section of the repair area in our workshop.

Removing and applying coatings on engine parts.

Application of rubber & silicon products.

Chemical processing/cleaning of aircraft parts.

Using our computer system to document and record your work.

Ensuring that your work meets all health and safety requirements.

This is a safety sensitive role, and all candidates will go through a medical assessment and drug & alcohol testing.

Your Profile

Be Trade Qualified – NZQA Level 4 or equivalent in aircraft painting, vehicle painting/ panel beating or similar.

Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.

Have solid work experience in similar environment.

Be experienced in working in processes and following instructions.

Strong hand skills.

Good computer literacy.

Have a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and good organizational skills.

Be a confident, effective communicator and a strong team player.

Be passionate about your work and always strive for the best and take pride in your work.

Be able to comply with a strong safety and quality culture.

Be flexible and adaptable.

Able to work in physical tasks, such as but not limited to: Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, carrying, and twisting.

HOURS OF WORK

In this full-time position you will work in a fortnightly rotating shift pattern. Availability to work overtime is appreciated and compensated accordingly.
