Job Description About the Role Located at Redvale Landfill & Energy Park in Dairy Flat, Auckland, you will join a collaborative and dynamic team. Your primary responsibilities will include air quality monitoring, operational planning, and active community engagement. You'll also cooperate across departments, supporting the Redvale Environmental Compliance team in meeting the site's objectives. This position provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in understanding the environmental impact of landfill and energy operations, while implementing effective control measures within one of New Zealand's leading environmental companies. It also offers excellent potential for professional growth, with pathways to progress into multiple other environmental or operational roles. Key Responsibilities Undertake routine inspections of air quality at the site and in nearby communities. Maintain accurate data and documentation to consistently track air quality conditions and site controls. Ensure full compliance with the Landfill Management Plan. Promptly raise concerns with operational staff and recommend corrective actions. Take proactive steps to prevent odour discharge beyond the site boundary. Champion continuous improvement in air quality management practices. Manage and respond to air quality complaints effectively. Undertake other projects from time to time as directed by the Manager. Qualifications About You We're looking for someone who: Has a valid and current full driver's license. Has a strong understanding of monitoring processes and protocols. A sense of smell is required to meet the qualifications for a calibrated nose, used for testing odour levels.. Understands field and operational environments. Is proficient in Microsoft Office for managing data and creating reports. Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with both internal teams and the community. Experience in operational roles requiring technical monitoring or testing is a plus. Excels at managing multiple tasks, prioritizing effectively, and taking initiative to solve problems.
