The Chair will be a key collaborator to lead and develop the new Construction programme, including the undergraduate and postgraduate courses, the establishment of world-class laboratory and workshop facilities, and the research agenda.
The Chair will contribute to construction-related teaching and research and will also contribute to the appointment of further academics, leading and mentoring the construction team, which will grow over the next three years.
In addition, the Sir Mark Dunajtschik Chair in Construction will develop collaborative links with industry, professional bodies, and government agencies.You will be a world-class construction expert with expertise in digital technologies or modern methods of construction, as well as a proven track record of teaching and research in construction.The successful candidate will have the following:Expertise in digital technologies or modern methods of constructionA PhD in a relevant field, or other relevant qualifications commensurate with the seniority of the roleDemonstrated evidence of academic leadership in teaching and research as judged by international standardsDemonstrated evidence of high quality and successful disciplinary tertiary teachingDemonstrated evidence of successfully attracting funding for research activities and delivering impactful researchDemonstrated evidence of engagement with industry, profession, and government agenciesTe Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is a global-civic University with our marae at our heart.
