Agriculture And Science Teacher

Waitaki Boys' is a school of approximately 420 students, enriched with a proud heritage but forward looking and progressive in our task of educating young men for the challenges of today and the future. The school vision is to develop 'inspiring young men of outstanding character'.
We are seeking a teacher of both agriculture and science. This position would mostly involve teaching in the junior school but an ability to teach up to Level 2 NCEA is an advantage.
This is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion in these curriculum areas. Our Science teaching facilities are outstanding (rebuilt in 2018) with an extremely skilled and collaborative department. We have a working farm at the school which covers 8 hectares of land. We are currently running over 300 stock units and have a farm manager who oversees the operation of Fraser Farm. We have also recently diversified into poultry, dairy and apiculture. Moreover, a new classroom specifically for the teaching of Agriculture (situated next to the Farm) has just been completed! A willingness to support our extensive co-curricular programme is important.
