Age Concern Hauraki Coromandel is looking for volunteers for the following roles: Lead and support our social connection groups (weekly older person social get togethers for friendship and conversation-Chinwag groups) held throughout Hauraki Coromandel. Weekly visits to older persons in their homes or in the community for companionship. Quarterly Newsletter distribution. Assistance with events and functions from time to time. Occasional administrative assistance, addressing and stuffing envelopes and the like. Contributing articles to our newsletter that may be relevant to older people. Requirements: Skills required: Organisational abilities. Love of people and conversation, with the ability to relate well to others. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Reliable and dependable. Respect for the beliefs and values of others. Good listening skills. A Police background check is required for this role. Time commitment: Anything from 1 hour a week.
