We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic After School Care Assistant to join our team.
In this role, you will assist the manager in overseeing daily activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children, and creating an engaging and enjoyable atmosphere.
Reports to: After School Care Manager Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and Experience Assist the manager with planning and implementing activities.Supervise and engage with children during playtime, homework sessions, and other activities.Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the program.Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff.Help maintain a clean and organised environment.You will receive additional training to support the manager in the case of their absence you will be required to run the programme.A genuine love for working with children.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Reliability and punctuality.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.Previous experience in childcare or a related field is a plus.Availability for after school hours from 2.30pm on weekdays is essential, as is availability to work during school holiday breaks.
A current first aid certificate is advantageous.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a full background check including a police vet.
