Ko ake mahi - What you'll do We are a team of research and evaluation professionals leading high-quality and equity-led approaches to research and evaluation at the Ministry.
In this role you will be responsible for gathering and researching information, contributing to the development of processes and tools, identifying evidence needs, and developing meaningful research and evaluation initiatives.
You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the Ministry and the wider sector to support research and evaluation activities.
You will be a key contributor to the Ministry's internal Research and Evaluation Fund, supporting the running, development, and evaluation of the Fund.
Your role will also involve disseminating and translating relevant evidence to practice, contributing to the implementation of projects and programmes, and building collaborative and positive relationships across the team, the Ministry, the wider health sector, government, and other external stakeholders.
Ko pukenga - What you'll bring Knowledge of Te Tiriti and equity-based approaches to research and evaluation. Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in research and evaluation, preferably in the health sector. Understanding of the New Zealand health sector and its research groups. Ability to apply critical thinking and sound judgment to research and analyse information, and develop options. Familiarity with machinery of government and procurement processes. Proven organisational skills to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality with high accuracy. Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey complex messages to diverse audiences. Strong interpersonal skills to build positive stakeholder relationships. We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters. Our team take the lead role in ensuring evidence-based decision-making and evaluation is in place across the Ministry.
This role supports a range of research and evaluation activities across the Ministry and leads the administration of the Research and Evaluation Fund.
You will work with a range of stakeholders to plan for, design, and implement research and evaluation projects.
