About our group | Mo te roopu
We regulate activity across the climate, land & ocean environments to enable New Zealand to sustainably utilise its natural resources, protect its environment and meet its international obligations.

We manage applications and decision-making processes and operate the register that allows carbon units to be traded. We ensure that obligations are met through our confident application of the legislative frameworks we operate under.

We do all of this effectively, efficiently, fairly and transparently, in order to be a trusted independent regulator.

About the role | Mo te tunga
We are looking for an Advisor (potentially 2) to join our team on a fixed term basis until 30 June 2025 to assist us with the processing of applications under the Fast-track Approvals Bill and other resource management legislation.

You will be exposed to a wide range of opportunities in this role. This includes supporting Senior Advisors with the processing of applications in a timely manner and in accordance with statutory requirements, basic GIS map making to support required documents, maintaining good stakeholder relationships, website communications and undertaking procurement for services and contract management.

About you | Mohou ake
We are looking for someone with a range of skills and experience – if you have some or all of the below, we would love to hear from you.

A tertiary qualification, preferably specialising in resource management, natural sciences or a related field

Clear, concise written and oral communication

GIS experience is desirable

Ability to work under pressure, set priorities and achieve results in tight deadlines

Good level of MS Office application skills

A positive 'can do' attitude

Ability to relate to a wide range of people

Able to focus on details under pressure

Salary range
$69,879 - $104,819 per annum (midpoint $87,349).

This is the full salary range. Appointments are made within the range depending on skills and experience.
