We are looking for two policy advisors to join our newly formed Waste Sector Policy team.Our team is focused on supporting and working with the sector to develop policy which:lowers waste emissions - this includes biogenic methane from organic waste and f-gases from industrial processingreduces construction and demolition waste going to landfills.We are also responsible for developing the National Disaster Waste and Debris Management Plan.
This plan is essential as it will outline how to deal with waste in a natural disaster or climatic event.The Waste Sector Policy team is responsible for:Delivering this Government's priorities and implementing the actions outlined in the soon to be published second Emissions Reduction PlanProviding high quality policy advice and analysis to MinistersLeading the development of robust evidence based regulatory and non-regulatory policy solutionsWorking closely with key Waste Sector stakeholdersWorking across the wider Ministry and aligning our work with the wider waste management system and sectorWe are looking for policy advisors with:experience implementing complex policy projects and programmesan ability to set priorities and to achieve deadlines and project and programme outputs.ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.Salary range for this role is $79,598 to $96,372 pa.
