That includes being a trusted partner for Maori and iwi, protecting and enabling their rights, interests and aspirations under the guidance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.Ko ta matou mahi - Our RoleBased in one of our Bay of Plenty (BOP) area offices, our Advisor - Placement and Rehousing, is our future and current customer's point of contact with Kainga Ora to provide support to whanau transferring and moving from one Kainga Ora property and being placed into another.The Advisor - Placement and Rehousing will be responsible for the placement and all Business Initiated Transfers across the Bay of Plenty (BOP). When required this role will also provide support with the Te Puku Ikaroa (central) region. This role provides advice to our customers and plays a pivotal role in ensuring the right house and supports are put in place for our customer and their whanau. They will have the ability to quickly and comprehensively assess and understand our customers housing and support needs, working closely with the Manager Housing and Wellbeing Support, Team Leaders, and their teams to build and leverage relationships with key agencies and local providers.Nga pumanawatanga ou - What you will bring:Specialised knowledge, skill and behaviour working with customers who may have complex wellbeing needs. This must include experience in health or social servicesStrong observational and practical analytical skills to make sense of complex, sometimes contradictory spoken and unspoken customer needs and other informationWorking knowledge of the Residential Tenancies ActUnderstanding of the Match to a Suitable Home and Guidelines • Ability to think conceptually and anticipate issues that may affect the customer and or Placement TeamA good understanding of placement projects implementation planExcellent planning and organising skillsStrong communication and influencing communication skillsStrong stakeholder management skills to develop collaborative relationships and engage with external agencies, support service providers and the broader communityProven negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to manage customer expectations, negotiate trade-offs and maintain customer confidence in our outcomes and next stepsExtensive experience building and enriching customer relationships, with strong empathetic skills to connect with customers with a range of needs and the ability to engage with hard to engage customersAbility to manage professional boundaries, show good ethical judgement, and apply policies and code of conduct, processes, and practice guidelinesAs this role requires travelling across the immediate region, you will have a current NZ driver's license (vehicle provided).Nou te rourou - What's in it for you?We offer competitive salaries, five weeks' annual leave and a benefits package including a range of insurances, flexible working arrangements and career development.
