Advisor, Office of the Chief Science Advisor | WellingtonWellington based, part time opportunity (18.75 hours per week)6 Month fixed term opportunitySalary midpoint of $79,653, actual salary pro-rated and dependent on your experienceKo ake mahi - What you'll doIn this role you will support and maintain the delivery of a range of cross-Ministry and sector-facing work programs, including operational tasks.
Initially, the focus of the role will be to support the Academic Engagement program.
You will work collaboratively with the Office of the Chief Science Advisor (OCSA) team, wider Evidence, Research and Innovation Directorate, Ministry and sector-based colleagues to:Contribute to the work programme you are assigned to and provide quality advice and support with the oversight and support of Principal Advisors.Contribute to the delivery of key pieces of work, including implementation of projects and programmes, with the oversight and support of Principal Advisors.Gather and research information, write and provide advice, and support to the OCSA team.Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of processes, tools, and frameworks within the team.Minimum Requirements:A relevant tertiary qualification in a relevant field (health or biomedical science), and/or equivalent experience conducting research preferably in the health sector.Strong written and oral communication skills.Proven organisational skills with the ability to think ahead, use initiative, establish priorities, and meet deadlines whilst preserving high levels of accuracy and confidentiality.Previous experience in gathering and analysing evidence and using sound judgement to develop and provide options.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster good, collaborative relationships.An understanding of the health sector and machinery of government desirable.At Manatu Hauora – Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance.
