Advisor, Ministerial Services Permanent opportunity based in Palmerston North or Wellington 5 weeks leave, flexible working, subsidised health insurance Contribute towards the future of our transport system Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity The purpose of this role is to provide ministerial and parliamentary expertise and technical knowledge that delivers high-quality timely advice and services to Ministers, senior leaders, and staff across Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency (NZTA). This includes managing and drafting responses to all official, ministerial, and parliamentary requests for information on behalf of NZTA. Ko koetenei | About you To be successful in this role, you will bring: Knowledge of the machinery of government and an understanding of the OIA and Privacy Act; Developed research and analytical skills; Excellent written and oral communication skills – including experience in writing in plain English; Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistently high standards; Ability to work under pressure without compromising quality, including managing demanding workloads and competing priorities; Sound judgement and ability to manage risk appropriately; Good relationship management and negotiation skills; Ability to function independently and as part of a team; Knowledge of or experience working/communicating with the office of a Minister. You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Maori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Maori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
