To be successful in this role you need to have exceptional communication skills, an understanding of the Machinery of Government, a sophisticated risk radar and the ability to be resilient and work as part of a team.

Team members may work from home up to two days per week from Tuesday to Thursday, when they are able to work independently.
As an Advisor, Ministerial Services, you will be responsible for providing timely, comprehensive, and tailored Ministerial services, including the release of information to Ministers and Parliament, and responses to Parliamentary, customer, and public requests for information.
This includes managing, processing, and drafting responses to requests for information and Ministerial correspondence.
You will work collaboratively with employees across the Ministry to ensure that responses meet statutory requirements, align to publicly available information, and are issued within relevant timeframes.
You will also work with other members of the team to identify and manage the response to complex and sensitive communications requests.
This will be a busy and challenging role, so will require someone who is flexible, calm and can multi-task.
You will be joining a supportive and enthusiastic team who have a genuine interest in sharing knowledge and supporting one another in an enjoyable, busy and sometimes challenging environment.

Please note that previous experience of working in a Ministerials team would be advantageous.

The positions report to the Team Leader in the Ministerial Services team, which is part of the wider Communications team at the Ministry of Justice.
The Ministerial Services team oversees and drafts responses to official correspondence, including Official Information Act and Privacy Act requests, Ministerial correspondence, Parliamentary questions and other pieces of correspondence for the Ministry.
Our team primarily works from the Justice Centre in Thorndon, Wellington.
