Advisor - Continuing Professional Development The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners$73,000 – $98,830 per year dependent on experienceThe Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners is a medical college that is the post-graduate training organisation for doctors wanting to specialise in general practice and rural hospital medicine. And we're a membership organisation. Our 75+ operational staff support our College members with an aim to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequities for all people in Aotearoa.Our 6,000 members are either training to become, or are, specialist general practitioners (GPs) or rural hospital doctors. One way that we support them is to undertake and record their ongoing learning as prescribed by the Medical Council of New Zealand.We call that continuing professional development (CPD). We're looking for an outstanding Advisor to engage, support and guide our members to meet their learning requirements.About the roleThe Membership and Professional Development team assists and supports all members of the College with their membership and continuing professional development journey. This includes doctors who are either training to become, or are, specialist GPs or rural hospital doctors. The team is also responsible for the endorsement of resuscitation courses, education programmes and /or events relevant to general practice and/or rural hospital medicine.The Advisor, Continuing Professional Development role:Is responsible for providing support and guidance to members through the timely provision of CPD servicesProvides high-quality customer service through monitoring and responding to queries from members through the key communication channelsSupports the development and maintenance of robust processes to support the frameworks and policies for CPD set by the Medical Council of New ZealandContributes to the building and maintaining of relationships within the College and other external stakeholdersSupports the College membership processes.Skills and experienceA suitable tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in providing customer support and administrative servicesExperience of working in a professional development team and/or in a learning and development environment is desirableStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to plan communication with membersAbility to solve issues collaboratively, and to proactively recommend process improvementsExcellent time management, planning and organisational skills; and an eye for detailAbility to be flexible, embrace change and be open to new ways of doing thingsProficient level skill with the Microsoft Office SuiteExperience in using databases or CRM systems, and familiarity with online recording platforms for learning would be an advantageWork from home up to two days a weekProfessional development opportunities and access to LinkedIn LearningWellbeing initiatives such as Birthday leave, three gifted leave days between Boxing Day and New Years Day, flu vaccines, fruit, stand-up desks, and an annual cash contribution for you to spend on anything that benefits your wellbeing (paid quarterly)Great office environment - daily quiz, active social committee and book club, regular social events and a modern, light and bright office that overlooks the harbourOur commitment to equity and diversityWe want our College team to reflect the diversity of Aotearoa New Zealand and the communities that our people serve and work in.
