The Advisor Community Readiness and Recovery will support the Community Risk Manager in improving the way Fire and Emergency NZ delivers its Community Readiness and Recovery functions, by engaging and working with communities and undertaking the delivery of community readiness and recovery functions, including delivering programmes and initiatives to build readiness and facilitate recovery functions and activities across the district.
Ko tau na i tenei turanga - What you'll bring to the role: Commitment to working with Maori as tangata whenua and have experience working with hapu, iwi, Maori entities/organisations and other diverse communities of Tairawhiti.Building collaborative and influential working relationships with a wide range of people and organisations, whilst utilising your excellent communication skills.An understanding of the needs of the community through identification, assessment, monitoring of risks and developing readiness capabilities to mitigate these risks.Undertaking the delivery of readiness and recovery initiatives in line with planned programmes of work.Utilising and analysing data to make evidence-based and informed delivery decisions.To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will: Confidence in using the MS Office suite of applications, i.e., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.An ability to convey complex and technical information to a range of audiences.An ability to effectively plan, collaborate and implement community programmes and initiatives.Work closely with the Tairawhiti RR team on shared projects that offer fire education opportunities for our brigades and communities.Need a current full driver licence.As an employer, Fire and Emergency New Zealand is committed to providing an enjoyable and challenging work environment with a focus on ongoing personal development.
