The Communications Advisory Service is part of the University's Communications Service.

Our purpose is to connect the University, internally and externally.
We use a range of communications tools and channels to provide information to our audiences which enhance and protect the University's reputation; raise its profile; and attract quality students and external funding.
The role/Te mahi Reporting directly to the Manager Communications Services Advisory, based within a client portfolio, Communications Advisers provide expert advice and support to portfolio leaders that strengthen the University's positive public profile and outstanding reputation, while creating and delivering content for internal and external audiences.
This position will serve our Pacific staff, students, alumni and wider community, producing relevant, proactive and customised internal and external communications in line with our Pacific Strategic Framework and communications strategies.
You will work closely with the Pacific Development Office, Pacific Leadership Group and Pacific Student Associations to provide relevant media content and respond to media enquiries for Pacific Island media channels, as well as provide advice, expert opinion and information to internal clients, and facilitate communications support from central Communications Services teams as required.
The Pacific portfolio is rewarding due to the broad nature of the activities the role undertakes and the opportunities to develop communications support to a growing area of the University.
Your skills and experience/Ka Pukeka Me Ka Wheako We are looking for an experienced communications professional, with demonstrated experience in: Working with Pacific communities and media.
Public relations, journalism or business communications roles.
Crafting and producing high quality communications for a range of purposes.
Providing advice and support to senior leaders and managers.
You will be an articulate and engaging communicator, with a strong customer service orientation and sense of team spirit.
Further details/Puroko This is a permanent, part-time (0.5 FTE, 18.75 hours) position, located in Dunedin.
The appointments range for this role is $75,380 to $84,656.
Top of Range $94,075.
