Position Title: Adviser - Communications & Engagement

Position Type: Permanent, Full Time (38 hours per week)
Location: Wellington CBD (Queens Wharf) / Two flexible WFH days per week
Salary: $79,078 – $100,420 per annum per year (+ KiwiSaver)
Small, friendly Ministry | Flexible WFH days | Wellbeing & Ministry leave days

The Ministry of Transport, Te Manatu Waka is the system leader for the transport sector whether it's on land, at sea, in the air, or connecting Aotearoa to the world. We work in partnership with a number of transport agencies to help keep the transport system moving and are the government's principal adviser on transport policy, regulation and investment.

About the opportunity | Nga whakamarama mo te tunga
As an Adviser in the Communications and Engagement team, you'll be at the forefront of the Government's transport priorities working across a variety of interesting and fast-moving pieces or work. You'll be part of a Ministry leading outcomes that touch the daily lives of almost every New Zealander in some way. You'll join a truly welcoming and friendly team who will encourage you to develop and grow your skills.
Key responsibilities include.
Contributing to the development of communications strategies and plans
Writing and editing content for internal and external communications channels, including digital
Supporting the development of general communications material, including material for the Ministers' offices
Working with the team on proactive media activity and responses
Assisting with planning and delivering internal and external events.
What you'll bring | Te wahi ki a koe
Previous central government communications advisory experience
Experience in developing digital content and use of social media channels
Demonstrated writing and editing experience along with excellent attention to detail
The ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
Salary range | Whanuitanga Utu a-Tau
The base salary budget for this position is $79,078 – $100,420 per annum (+KiwiSaver). The salary offered will be based on your skills and experience.
