Korero mo te turanga - About the roleThe Advanced Practice Cardiology Physiologist:
Demonstrates strong evidence-based practice in the fields of Electrophysiology and/or DevicesDemonstrates advanced knowledge of types and mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmiasDemonstrates a high level of clinical reasoning, with the ability to analyse complex clinical and technical information to identify the problem and make appropriate clinical decisions based on the findings.Communicates and documents comprehensively and effectively.Provides expert technical support to others and undertakes complex clinical troubleshooting both locally and for other regionsInvestigates and alerts others to learnings from local experience, relevant journal articles and international guidelinesUndertakes complex troubleshooting in relation to materials and equipment used for investigations and procedures.Mo to matou ropu - About our teamThe Cardiology Service is a Secondary and Tertiary service provided for Health New Zealand, Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley (CC & HV) and those of the central region of New Zealand.
Cardiology at CC & HV includes: Outpatient ClinicsCardiac Diagnostic TestingThe Heart and Lung UnitCardiac Interventional Suite, providing the following procedures: Coronary AngiogramsLeft & right heart studiesCoronary intervention and CTOBalloon Valvuloplasty and TAVIPFO / ASD / LAA ClosurePacing, ICD and CRT implantsElectrophysiology Studies, 3D mapping and AblationCardiac Physiology Service includes: Pacing / ICD follow-up service, including remote monitoring and travelling clinicsCath Lab, Device Implants and ElectrophysiologyEchocardiographyExercise Tolerance TestingAmbulatory monitoring - Holters, Events & BPElectrocardiographyTraining of Provisional Cardiac Physiologists, Cardiac Physiology Technicians and other Health Care staffClinical Physiology provides a full range of diagnostic testing as an integral part of the Cardiology Service. The CC & HV Cardiology Service is accredited as an SCT training facility.
