Divisional Services and Administration is a team of highly skilled professionals responsible for delivering outstanding student and staff experiences through high quality, confidential secretarial and administrative support services. We are a strong supportive whakawhanaungatanga, (community), proud of the work we do as the largest workforce in the university, spanning every corner of the motu.

The role/Te mahi

This is a busy but exciting role with an amazing team in the Department of Surgical Sciences, based in the Dunedin Hospital. The role supports the teaching of the 4th, 5th and/or 6th year medical students alongside support for postgraduate students and other general administrative support within the Department.

Your skills and experience/Ka pukeka me ka wheako

You are energetic, and have a welcoming and approachable personality, able to develop good working relationships. Communication is key as you will be working with students, academics, and tutors as well as Health NZ clinical and professional staff. You are a strong team player, have excellent organisational and time management skills, and can multi-task with superb accuracy and attention to detail. You will also be flexible with a desire to learn. Working with people from diverse backgrounds, you have outstanding listening skills, with strong cultural awareness.

Other important skills and experience include:

Previous experience in a busy and/or complex administration environment.

Excellent relationship building skills.

A passion for customer service and delivering exceptional service to customers.

Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes.

The ability to be calm, adaptable, and flexible in a fast-paced environment.

The ability to effectively balance ever-changing priorities

An ongoing commitment to positive outcomes for our students, staff, and visitors.

This is a permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week) position, located in Dunedin.

The appointment range for this role is $59,285 to $63,651.
