This is a part time position working 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday, based within Mental Health & Addictions Counties Manukau at Middlemore Hospital.In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative and customer service assistance within the Director of Area Mental Health Service (DAMHS) office and to the broader service to ensure processes are supported by flexible, skilled administrators in order to meet service demands.The key tasks of your role are driven by the service priorities and clinical activities of the service. These priorities and activities will fluctuate over time. This role involves coordination of legal processes attached to the DAMHS office and entails contact with a broad range of people, including users of mental health services and their whanau, clinicians, lawyers, and judicial staff. You will be required to gain an understanding of the Mental Health Act and processes and keep up to date with related legislative changes. You will also be responsible for organising schedules, meetings, formatting documents, supporting departmental recruitment, assisting with annual leave and payroll management, purchasing supplies, organising the orientation of new members of staff, and taking meeting minutes.To be suitable for this role, you will need to have had previous experience providing administrative and coordination support to a team and establishing and maintaining an effective filing system. Mastery of the Microsoft Office suite and previous experience working with a patient management system such as iPM and HCC would also be ideal.
