This will be a challenging but rewarding role suited to a person who remains calm when juggling priorities and making things happen.
It's a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied day, interacting with people across all of our programmes and ensuring that day-to-day operations run smoothly.
Reporting to the Head of School, Education and Social Work, this position will be instrumental in supporting our practicum placement and coordination ensuring the School runs effectively.
This role is part of a network of administrative staff who provide support to Academic teams as they engage with students in their learning journey at Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT).
MIT's commitment to supporting student success in our field-based Early Childhood, Primary and Social Work programmes relies heavily on ensuring that Associate Teachers, School Liaison Personnel, and External Supervisors are contracted efficiently and effectively with all the right information at the appropriate time.
Your primary contacts will be Practicum/Placement Leads within the School of Education and Social Work along with the aforementioned field-based supports.
As such, it is expected that there will be a strong, dynamic, and collaborative relationship between this role and the student-facing team.
You have a high level of customer service and professionalism.You have initiative and are keen to set up new systems that improve operational efficiency.Good written and oral communication skills are one of your strengths.You can juggle multiple priorities and work under pressure with accuracy.You can work to tight timelines and follow through processes to ensure all involved parties are served.You are a record-keeping extraordinaire and pride yourself on accessible, clear, consistent file structures.You know your way around Microsoft packages, in particular Word and Excel.You have some understanding of invoicing, contracts, and finance procedures.If you are a team player who is ready to pitch in and help others, you will enjoy working with a range of like-minded people.At MIT, you will work with some incredible people who are passionate about the positive impact we make on the communities we serve.
