Department of Corrections NZ – Timaru, South Island Position: Administration Support Officer Location: Christchurch Men's Prison, Canterbury Salary Range: $49,708 - $57,306 per annum About the Role We are looking for a full-time, permanent Administration Support Officer to join our property team at Christchurch Men's Prison. Reporting to the Receptions/Movements Manager, you will be an integral part of a small but dedicated team that provides support in our Receiving Office, where people in our care are processed as they arrive, leave, or transfer from prison. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing the accurate collation, collection, and recording of all personal property for those in our care who are being transferred out of the facility. Key Responsibilities Oversee the accurate collation, collection, and recording of personal property. Enter data into the Department's computer database. Interact with people in our care and members of the public visiting the prison. Work on rostered daytime shifts, including every third weekend. About You We are interested in hearing from people who have a genuine interest in our kaupapa and possess the following skills/experience: Computer literacy and sound working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Great face-to-face people skills with the ability to interact confidently and professionally. Ability to process data quickly with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to learn new skills quickly, follow instructions, and ask relevant questions. Strong work ethic and ability to work successfully as part of a team. Ability to adhere to strict policies and procedures and maintain compliance. Good physical health as heavy lifting is required. A Full New Zealand Driver Licence is required. Applicants must be a New Zealand citizen, New Zealand Resident Permit holder, Australian citizen, or an Australian resident who holds a current Australian Resident Return Visa. Salary and Benefits The salary range for this role is $49,708 - $57,306 per annum, and appointment for the successful candidate will be based on skills and experience relevant to the role.
