Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About The RoleIn this interesting and busy role, your daily administrative tasks will support the arrival of pepi and the ongoing care they and their birthing person/people may require within the healthcare system, including:Covering reception duties, including booking patients for their birthing process and/or other medical proceduresAdmitting visitors outside of visiting hoursAnswering enquiries from visitors and inpatients, both in person and on the telephoneMaintaining effective electronic and paper filing systemsCo-ordination of Birth NotificationsArranging outpatient clinic appointmentsProviding administrative support to the midwife managers when requiredAs our Service runs 24/7, our administration staff work standard office hours across a 5-day (Monday – Friday) roster. The reception desk is open from 0800-2030 Monday to Friday. However, in the future, we may expand this to 7 days a week, so the ability to work evening and weekend shifts is essential.About the Team/Service/LocationTe Whatu Ora - Southern has the largest geographical coverage of all the New Zealand regions, providing services to 350,000 people in diverse communities. You will establish and maintain positive working relationships across the Maternity Service, always providing excellent customer service.Ideally You Will Bring The Following Skills And ExperiencePrevious experience in a busy administration roleCompetent and confident using the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and OutlookExcellent word processing and data entry skills with a strong eye for detailFlexible approach with the ability to successfully prioritise your workloadRespectful nature handling confidential, often sensitive information professionallyExcellent communication with a natural flair for fostering positive relationshipsCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthExperience in projects/initiatives that give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, particularly in healthcare settings.Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of Aotearoa/New Zealand.
